Grant Making Program

We provide micro-grants and project funding for reporting initiatives that center women's stories. Priority is given to projects focused on under-represented voices or those using innovative formats. These grants enable journalists to pursue ambitious reporting that might otherwise lack funding, bringing critical stories to light.

Grant Making Program

Overview

The ACWJ Grant Making Program offers direct financial resources to female journalists across Africa. We fund reporting that is innovative, investigative, and makes an impact, specifically focusing on stories that bring the experiences of women to the forefront.

Our goal is simple: to enable female journalists to pursue important, ambitious reporting projects that might not happen otherwise due to lack of funding. We believe that by resourcing these stories, we help bring critical issues affecting women to light, inform public opinion, and contribute to real improvements in their lives. We plan to award at least 5 micro-grants by the first quarter of 2026.

Our approach is hands-on and relevant to the challenges you face.
